Hard pastell, KOH-I-NOOR

The main constituents of the pastel materials of Koh-I-Noor are wax and white clay. Due to these components, in combination with some other additives, the pastel leaves an intense velvety trace. Brightness, saturation and excellent color distribution are achieved by adding the highest quality pigments. Thanks to a thorough grinding of all these components, an exceptionally soft oil-chalk pastel is obtained. A high content of oils in this pastel along with the chalky component gives a unique pastel effect. Colors are easily mixed, which allows you to create a large number of shades, as well as when working with oil and tempera paints. When using terpentine, the effect is enhanced. The works created in this technique are more like oil paintings, they are lightfast and unusually durable. You can also work this pastel in the technique of scratching.
